On Wednesday 15 May we had one of our brightest and liveliest talks given by PC Sharon Baldwin and Chief Inspector Paul Oherhly of the Metropolitan Police who spoke on Community Policing. Sharon has 31 years service and is soon to retire, and Paul is a very young looking Chief Inspector – or is it my age!
Sharon told us of her varied roles during her long service and Paul revealed he helped to police the 2011 riots when, after seeing him on Sky News, his mother called to check he was ok. Paul advised her that he was a bit busy to talk, when his mother strongly told him that she was STILL his mother!
This was a most interesting event, and they dealt expertly with the many questions put by Club members.
