Many members of the Club made their way down to the South Coast of England for the Annual District Conference for Rotarians in London. The members of the Club were spread across several hotels in Bournemouth, but that proved not to be a handicap to the members enjoying themselves.
Bournemouth can be a little bit hilly for some of the older members, but with everything so close to hand, even the hilliness was overcome. Our Youth Exchange Student from France was with us as was our Canadian Global Grant Scholar, Katie, studying at the LSE. Katie proved a phenomenal hit at the conference when she played the bag-pipes at the session introducing the scholars.
We had special presentations from visiting Rotarians as well as a strong line-up from the various charities invited to attend. The District Team for London were not as visible however as the visitors. For the first time in years, there was no Saturday afternoon programme, but Rotarians had the opportunity to attend the Rotaract District Conference taking place next door.
After a weekend of wonderful weather, we are now back in London and back to work!
