Our meeting on Wednesday 14 April 2021 was a business meeting with the usual reports from all those responsible for the Club’s Projects and Activities.
One of the most interesting topics discussed was how to find a way back to being the sort of Rotary Club we have been for the last 40+ years. The Government’s rules and guidance have been carefully followed by the members of the Club, but with the possibility of the lock-down being lifted towards the end of June, planning for meetings needs to start now, rather than being left to the last minute.
After careful consideration, the Club has decided to change the structure of its weekly meetings from what was set up at the start, nearly 43 years ago. Much has changed, and so should our Club. We have agreed to meet face to face on the first and third Wednesday of each month, and to meet online on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. There are typically 3 or 4 occasions in the year when there is a fifth Wednesday, and on those occasions the Club will make an ad-hoc arrangement.
So a plan is in place. The members are now hoping that the vaccines, the lock-down and the Government’s guidelines do the trick, and allow the Club to adopt its new meeting plan, hopefully starting in September 2021.
