Fellowship Shows the Squeeze

Our meeting on 26 April 2023 was a Fellowship Meeting held on Zoom at which it became clear, once again, how dates get squeezed together as we approach the end of the Rotary year on 30 June 2023.

Our plans for a Sponsored Walk in a local park are progressing once again, but the update demonstrates just how much planning is required if an event is to be a success.

Similarly, our plans for a celebration tea party for the Coronation of King Charles III have also been squeezed, and are now having to be rescheduled for the end of May 2023 rather than being alongside the Coronation itself.  Fortunately, the detailed planning that went into this event can easily be adjusted to the new date.

Added to this are all the training sessions being run by the London District for next year’s Club Officers, and those will inevitably have an effect on our Club Meetings in the coming weeks.

Working on all these issues in a constructive and friendly way is what Rotary is all about, and even after a meeting like this, we are all still the best of friends and looking forward to our Face to Face meeting next week with a Speaker on Brain Surgery.
