Our meeting on Wednesday 27 September 2023 was held on-line as a Club Fellowship Meeting. It was an opportunity to share several items of good news with the members.
One of our members reported on his meeting with the other District Governors from his Class (2013-2014) which had taken place near Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland the weekend before the Sycamore Tree in Sycamore Gap had been cut down. No aspersions were cast!
Despite forecasts from some members that it would be another 6 months before the Bank Mandate on our Club Charitable Trust Fund would be successfully updated, our Club Treasurer has achieved the update and now has access to the bank accounts in accordance with a resolution of the Trustees as a meeting held earlier this year. Her first task will be using the fund to round up a donation to Water Aid.
There was much discussion on the Quiz Night coming on Saturday 30 September 2023, and final preparations for the raffle were discussed in detail. The Club will also be participating in the organisation of the North London Disability Games on 15 October 2023 at the Aspire Sporting Complex in Stanmore. Meanwhile the Club’s projects in the community are running as planned.
