On 15 January we were pleased to welcome Jenny Stephany, who described the work of the charity, Medical Detection Dogs.
This relatively new charity provides dogs that can detect cancer or provide medical alerts. The dog’s enhanced sense of smell can aid patients and make significant savings to the Health Service. The strap-line of the charity is “Dogs Saving lives” and this is obviously of great benefit to clients and their families.
Members were impressed with the services already being offered and interested to hear that work continues to provide additional services.
A cheque was presented to Jenny by way of thanks for giving up her time and providing such an excellent presentation.
