Cedric is the Big Society, if David Cameron did but know it. Cedric has quietly been doing kindly things within his community ever since he was invited to join the Rotary Club 30 years ago. It was a great honour for a young assistant bank manager in Worplesdon. The Rotary Club! His bride, Betty, a bit of a Mrs Bucket, was most impressed, Rotary definitely being superior to the Lions Club or the Round Table.
