The Rotary Clubs of Lewisham and Penge merged in 2011, but both Clubs were chartered in 1926 so the new Club had two reasons excellent reasons to celebrate it 90th Anniversary this year.
The event was held at Oakley House in Bromley and was very well attended with some 150 people present. As well as the President of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland attending, our District Governor Helen was also there.
As well as a beautifully prepared 4-course dinner with wine, there was a cake; and the entertainment was provided by the South London Jazz Orchestra.
Although it seemed a long way to go – diametrically opposite our part of London, the fellowship at the event was first class, and our time there flew by!
