Following the Club’s decision to support the people of Ukraine with many hundreds of pounds of aid, the Club’s lead on the project has been shopping and has assembled the items that are so desperately needed by the people who have left their homes with so little.
The load will be collected on 09 March 2022, and should arrive at the crossing points in Poland and Moldova by the end of this month, thanks to our friends in Felsted Aid (UK-AID) who have been supporting the children’s treatment centre in Chernihiv, in Northern Ukraine for more than 25 years.
With reports of artillery shelling in Chernihiv on Sunday 06 March 2022, a journey there is no longer possible, but the Club will be, to the best of its ability, supplying hygiene items and other essentials to the more than one million refugees forced to flee their homes.
