Every disaster is different so Shelter Box have a flexible approach. They listen to the communities and work with them to make sure the right support is provided, sometimes in hard to reach communities. Together with operational partners, Shelter Box are able to support families all over the world with essential shelter and emergency aid tailored to their needs.
Rotary is a Partner organisation.ShelterBox and Rotary officially became project partners in disaster relief in 2012. This partnership is instrumental to Rotary’s disaster response strategy.
Rotarians and Rotary groups across the world support in a variety of ways, from raising funds and awareness to providing support on the ground during a disaster response. This enables Shelter Box to be more effective and reach more communities around the world.
Before a disaster happens, Shelter Box make sure they are ready to help. Aid is stored in 5 warehouses in strategic locations around the world, enabling aid to get to the families who need it as quickly as possible. By working with trusted local partners a network of trusted volunteers are ready to help at a moment’s notice. They can travel by foot, boat, helicopter or tuk-tuk to get to the families who need support – whatever it takes !
