On Wednesday 15th September 2010, we had two visitors from the Rotary Club of Roubaix Est, located to the west of Lille in North Eastern France. Alain Pollet (left) and Franck Denimol (centre) are pictured here with President Stuart who received their club banner, and presented our own with our best wishes to all the members at Roubaix Est. The French Club has had a contact club in England for many years, but the English Rotarians are now finding it difficult to participate in their joint events. Alain and Franck have been visiting Clubs in the London area to see if they can establish a new contact close to London. With a direct rail link from London to Lille, we are all hoping that this visit is the start of a friendship that will last for many years. Franck addressed the club most impressively in perfect English: we must now start refreshing our knowledge of French. “
